Wisconsin to New York again.

September 10, 2023

You should feel special because I could have given up after I lost the looong letter I wrote to you.

Then when I recreated the looong post, it must have went to most everyones junk mail or spam inbox because the open rate was down to almost zero.

I miss my friends.  I am really looking forward to reconnecting with my Florida friends.

I didn't want to leave you hanging.  I don't want to be forgotten.

I want to keep in touch with you.

I am back in Wisconsin, near my Sister.

It is a rainy day.  Steve is reading a very funny book.  Every once in a while he starts laughing and laughing.  Anxious People is the title.  And I am at my computer writing and writing and up loading pictures.

I hope I didn't bore you with all the pictures and stories of these past few days.

Tomorrow we head back to New York.  Taking five days to do it.

Then we will start preparing for our third bicycle tour of the year.  Washington DC to Pittsburgh all on trail... unless a part of the trail is closed.  Then we will have to find our way around that section.

So I will be busy.  You may not hear from me until I get back to Florida.

Oh!!! And I have news from Florida.  I called Oasis Mobile Home and RV Park in Inverness again.  The place that I stayed last winter that told me they would call me if something opened up.   They didn't call me.  I called them.

I now have reserved the same spot I had last year.  It is sunny and tight, but easy to get to the trail and only three miles from town.

Steve, nice guy that he is, offered for me to stay with him at his house.  I am sure I will be there a lot.  But I am glad that I will also have my own place.

I am relieved.

This fall, besides working on our 2024 travel plans, (We are going west), I will be trying to hone down the items I have in storage.  It won't save me any money to have less.  The smaller storage units are in short supply and don't cost much less than the size that I have.  Someone recently had boxes that they had not opened or needed in over a year.  They decided to just get rid of them without opening them.  That takes courage, but sounds smart.  If I don't remember what is in the box, how important can it be?

Thanks again for your texts, emails, and comments.  They make me smile.

Oh!  And today is the 10 month anniversary of the day that Steve and I realized we were probably a couple.  Smiles.

Six-Month US Tour Starts In Florida

Greetings from Fort White, Florida, We did it.  Despite mishaps and some angst, I am still feeling some angst, we have begun our 2024 Travels. Angst Last year we traveled together but I had Big Blue (my truck) and Lilac (my camper) with me.  And though I moved stuff into Steve's trailer and stayed with him, on travel days I was driving Big Blue on my own, and I had all the stuff that I don't use very often in my truck and trailer nearby. This is our first full season traveling with one truck and one trailer.  I am trying to adjust.  Steve is very accommodating and a good partner for this trip.  It's just me, worrying. And maybe some of the angst is world news, the US 2024 elections, and some of it is worrying about my son.   He just changed jobs and then in a few days he got laid off from the new job making him un-eligible for unemployment because he had not worked there long enough.  He will be fifty this year and I still worry.  So if you k...

Fire, and Wind on "The Rock" (Newfoundland)

It is pronounced New-fun- LAND.  Each time I say the word, I have to say it one or two more times because the new-fun part is said fast and the accent is on the LAND.  NewfunLAND.  Old habits and old pronunciations are hard to break. There are a lot of pictures and stories in this post.  Feel free to skim or dive in, it's your choice.  If you want to dive in, stop here and get your favorite beverage. It's going to take a while. Why Do I Do This Blog? I have several reasons for doing this blog. I blog to remember these adventures and times.  I need a record of what I have done so I can refer to it in the future or to boost my memory. I blog to keep in touch with friends and family.  I emailing and text some.  But I love a lot of people!  And this way you can choose how much you read.  I can't bore you because you can stop whenever you want. I blog to share my travels, joys and mistakes with you so you can have some of the fun or com...

Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick, Canada, eh?

Hello from New Brunswick, Canada.  It only took us two days of travel to get to get here from New Hampshire.  Though we stopped at one campsite near Bangor, Maine for three nights. The day we arrived by Bangor was July 4th.  On July 5th we went for a kayak ride. Steve found a place for us to kayak on Hammond Pond.  We met a man who was fishing there and when we told him where we were from he said, "You came here all the way from Florida to float on Hammond Pond?" We got to see a Loon nesting right next to the water.  And later, an eagle flew over us. I found a rocket launcher floating among the lily pads.  It was really a nice piece of equipment. We threw in the trash when we landed. Saturday evening the campground had live music for free!  We took our chairs down and enjoyed the music and enjoyed watching the children play.  I took a video to share with you. Wow, to be able to run around like that again...  Instead, Steve and I played our f...
