Wisconsin to New York again.

September 10, 2023

You should feel special because I could have given up after I lost the looong letter I wrote to you.

Then when I recreated the looong post, it must have went to most everyones junk mail or spam inbox because the open rate was down to almost zero.

I miss my friends.  I am really looking forward to reconnecting with my Florida friends.

I didn't want to leave you hanging.  I don't want to be forgotten.

I want to keep in touch with you.

I am back in Wisconsin, near my Sister.

It is a rainy day.  Steve is reading a very funny book.  Every once in a while he starts laughing and laughing.  Anxious People is the title.  And I am at my computer writing and writing and up loading pictures.

I hope I didn't bore you with all the pictures and stories of these past few days.

Tomorrow we head back to New York.  Taking five days to do it.

Then we will start preparing for our third bicycle tour of the year.  Washington DC to Pittsburgh all on trail... unless a part of the trail is closed.  Then we will have to find our way around that section.

So I will be busy.  You may not hear from me until I get back to Florida.

Oh!!! And I have news from Florida.  I called Oasis Mobile Home and RV Park in Inverness again.  The place that I stayed last winter that told me they would call me if something opened up.   They didn't call me.  I called them.

I now have reserved the same spot I had last year.  It is sunny and tight, but easy to get to the trail and only three miles from town.

Steve, nice guy that he is, offered for me to stay with him at his house.  I am sure I will be there a lot.  But I am glad that I will also have my own place.

I am relieved.

This fall, besides working on our 2024 travel plans, (We are going west), I will be trying to hone down the items I have in storage.  It won't save me any money to have less.  The smaller storage units are in short supply and don't cost much less than the size that I have.  Someone recently had boxes that they had not opened or needed in over a year.  They decided to just get rid of them without opening them.  That takes courage, but sounds smart.  If I don't remember what is in the box, how important can it be?

Thanks again for your texts, emails, and comments.  They make me smile.

Oh!  And today is the 10 month anniversary of the day that Steve and I realized we were probably a couple.  Smiles.

Slooowly making my way to Wisconsin, but first this, and this, and this.

Greetings!  I am back in the lovely state of New York. This will be a long post with a lot of pictures.  So skim if you want.  I just wanted you to know I am still thinking of you and wanting to share the sites with you. I am on my way to Wisconsin.  I have been on my way, kind of, since I left Florida in late April.  But I took a few side trips.  I wanted to see New York and Vermont and see friends in Canada.  I wanted to spend time with Steve, I wanted to see Steve's New York home, and I wanted to meet his extended family. Right now I am near Niagara Falls on the American side. My friends, Jean and Keith are in a motel near my campground to visit me.  I had planned on writing to you today. It will be my last chance to connect with you until after Steve and I return to his home to prepare for the Gap and C&O ride. In between, there will be lots of days of driving, a full week of riding in Wisconsin as Steve and I do a little tour,   and lots of site-seeing and visiting friends

The Lovely Finger Lakes Region, NY

Greetings from the Watkins Glen Public Library. The library is in the same building as  the  International Motor Racing Research Center .   Watkins Glen, NY has a 6.6 mile racing route. Watkins Glen State Park Watkins Glen State Park, where I am camped, is on a hill above town.   When I drove in to get to my camping spot I saw a lot of the same brand of campers throught the campground.  Altos were having a gathering.  I had researched these campers when I was dreaming of driving the country.  They are made in Canada and currently there is a two year wait to receive one once you order it. The first morning I was in the park, I drove part-way down the hill and then walked the Gorge, which is a big feature of this park. The instructions on the campground map was to stay to the right of a pond and then go down "Coaches Staircase". While I walked the Gorge trail, I kept saying "WOW!".  The CCC's had created the stone stairs and walkways. Then I remembered Steve compa
