Bicycle Tour - Floral City to Clearwater Beach

We went on a little Bike Tour! Steve and I just got back from a short (five night, six day) bike tour.  We went with my long-time friends Regis and Cindy Hampton.  I want to tell you all about it, but first I have other stuff to share. Be patient, or just scroll down.  That is the good thing about the printed word, you can just skip the parts that don't interest you. When it has been over a month since I last wrote to you, there is a whole lot to share!  But I am going to try not to bore you and just tell a few stories and highlight the bike tour because I know some of you will be interested in that. Thanks for reading on... Hard To Part With Stuff Holding Memories  This weekend the campground where I am parked by Inverness, Florida is having a park-wide yard sale.  A lot of the residents are putting their stuff on my neighbors' yard and in their car port.   I had forgotten all about the sale and was heading for the gym when I saw some neighbors organizing the merchandise.  I t

Bicycle Tour Pittsburgh to West Newton

Greetings,  I hope this finds you well. These pictures and stories are not in sequence as I am trying to figure out how to blog on my phone. Joan stopped ahead of me and took this picture of me riding out of an underpass.   I passed a red smelly waterfall.  I hear there are several on the trail.  A reminder of the many abandoned iron and coal mines in the area.  This smells a little like sulfur, a sign says it is water from an old mine and is acidic and a major source of pollution. Joan is an experienced bike tourist as you can see by her neat pack.  She said keep your raincoat on top. We stopped  at a cemetery and campground in Dravo where a soldier was buried from the war of 1812 and about nine from the civil war. Is a consort a lady friend without a marriage certificate?  I have yet to google it. Once out of Pittsburgh ant it’s burbs, the trail became bluffs on one side and the river on the other. McKeesport was industrial but had a park on the trail with a nice statue of John F Ken

Anticipation of Adventures and Meetups in Pennsylvania

Good Morning! I started to pack up this morning for moving myself and Lilac away from Stow, Ohio near the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and onto our next location near Tionesta, PA.  Then it occurred to me that I may be quite remote there.  Without cell service or good cell service, how will I let you know about all the exciting things about to happen?   Before my last post went out I heard from a couple people asking where I was at and how I was doing.  I want to share with you some pictures from my great time with Cindy and Regis Hampton here.  And I want to tell you about... well, other exciting stuff happening.   First, my time here with Regis and Cindy near the National Park has been wonderful.  I just love these folks!  We feel like family, the kind that can argue around the dinner table with respect and that can sit in silence with each other and not feel the need to talk or entertain.   If you don't know Cindy and Regis they are people persons.  They used to own a friendly
